A Park You Can Play In — in the Rainy Season and After Dark. “Công Viên Đêm” (Night Park) Opens at P2 Park for a Limited Season.

The night and the rain, turned into time for children and families. Free and open daily, 15:00–20:00, 4 September to 1 November 2026.

Nomura Real Estate Vietnam (NREV), with the support of Phu My Hung (PMH), will open “Công Viên Đêm” (Night Park) at P2 Park in Tân Hưng Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, from 4 September to 1 November 2026. The theme is “a park you can play in — through the rainy season and after dark.” Admission is free, with no registration required.

In Ho Chi Minh City’s rainy season, a sudden downpour empties the park for hours, nearly every week. This park does not wait for the rain to stop. A park of rain, where the water that falls is caught and turned into play, and a plaza of light, which extends the hours after dusk. A park you can use in the rain, and after dark — for two months.

Why night, and why rain

In hot cities, the hours people can comfortably spend outdoors shift to the evening. At P2 Park, too, the evening is when residents most want to be outside — yet what can be done there once the sun goes down is still limited compared with that demand.

The rainy season adds to this. From May to November, the rain comes suddenly, almost every week, and each time the park stands empty for hours.

Night and rain have long been treated as conditions that narrow how a park can be used. This programme asks whether they can become reasons to use it.

From December 2025 to January 2026, NREV ran “Công Viên Đêm” at Vinhomes Grand Park in Long Bình Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, where residents responded well. The Phu My Hung programme builds on that experience.

Two areas in the park

Night Plaza

Light you can touch, added to the existing plaza. The octahedral lighting object at its centre is made with mài (@mai.cuahang), a maker based in Ho Chi Minh City — built here, and repairable here, rather than shipped in finished from abroad. Its panels double as tables and seats.

Here, short live music sets play in the evening breeze, and wellness workshops offer yoga held to the tones of a sound bath.

Rain Park

On available paved space beside the pavilion, a rainwater collection structure of about 20 metres will be built. Its starting point is lu nước, the large clay vessels that have collected rooftop rainwater across the Mekong Delta for generations. Rather than letting rain run off, this tradition caught it and put it to use — a local wisdom translated here into a place for children to play and learn.

While the rain falls, and after it stops, water here becomes something to play with. Collected rainwater is filtered and used for water play and a hand pump; the process is visible in observation tanks, so children can follow the water that was falling from the sky moments ago. For mist and the paddling pool, where water may enter the mouth, we use treated water supplied by Phu My Hung.

We are not purifying rainwater to drinking standards this time, but we will demonstrate how far rainwater can be taken. With more advanced treatment built in, a future park could run all of this on rainwater alone.

2. Đêm hội Nước (Water Evening) — Saturday 19 September, with the PMH Mid-Autumn Festival

Both areas open alongside “Ngày Hội Trung Thu Phú Mỹ Hưng 2026,” held at P2 Park the same day — a once-a-year tradition, spent in the shape of an ordinary evening at the park.

• Water Walk — walking P2 Park together and checking the water for ourselves: the pond, the stream, and the collected rainwater
• Moon Yoga — after sunset, an open yoga session held to the tones of a sound bath
• Mid-Autumn Café — a local café serves seasonal drinks; a place for neighbours to settle in and talk
• Lantern Constellation — children and families write their wishes on lantern tags and hang them in the park together

3. Closing Event — Friday 30 October, Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November

Two months of records and photographs displayed in the park, and residents asked directly for their views — which then carry into the next place we build.

Safety

Water — collected rainwater is not for drinking. Filtered rainwater is used for water play and the hand pump; mist and the paddling pool use treated water supplied by Phu My Hung. Water quality is tested on a fixed schedule, and water-based activity stops if any reading exceeds threshold.

Security — on-site staff and the security contractor maintain 24-hour cover throughout the period.

Toward the next township

Established in 2019, NREV develops residential and urban projects in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Hai Phong. As a strategic partner of Phu My Hung, it is jointly developing Hồng Hạc City in Bắc Ninh Province.

Both companies will examine how the findings from P2 Park can inform daily life in future townships. What they are looking for is not a design language, but what a park that stays enjoyable in the rain and after dark actually looks like.
